Possessing the fruits of craftsmanship is a joy

My first purchase from Ian Lewis, and on first inspection, exceeds my expectation of beautiful craftsmanship. I've always been a sucker for a float, But as i regress from focussing on all my carp technology to more paired back "old school" float fishing for Carp and Tench, the vintage style and materials of Ian's products seemed very appealing. Although I have yet to get these in the water, I have no doubt they will be just the start of a collection of Ian's work.
Reply From Handmade Fishing Floats by Ian Lewis:
Hi David, It always amazes me how as we all start knocking on we hanker for the way things were and a slightly quieter and more peaceful way of enjoying our leisure. Good for me on a business front, but more importantly I think good for those that see the light as it must bring a heightened sense of serenity and quiet enjoyment back for them too.

My day out with Ian's Floats....
Arrived at my local pond 13:00 friday ,weather was over cast ,slight breeze.. water temp 7c ,decided to fish the pole at 14m... 45 mins in had no luck whats so ever...decided i needed to get futher out than the pole ,so this was a perfect opportunity to try out Ians Wagglers ,i had purchased 3 of the cork ones ,i attached a clip on waggler widget and tested all 3 ..... they were all very consistant in size/look/ weight ....so cast out a good 20/25 m ,the floats are very aero dynamic and flew straight out no problem ,put my line clip on and balled in a few small lumps of ground bait ..
15 mins in i was into a fish ,just a small roach but a fish all the same so cast out again, the floats settle quickly and gives a nice presentation for maggots/pinkys to drop...another roach, next came out a small hybrid on double pinkys so kept to this and it was fish a chuck all skimmers ,for the next hour it was solid fish until i bumped a couple off ,by now the wind was up the rain was coming in and i was losing the light so decided to call it a day ,but altogether a great session
looking forward to trying out my quill float next
